I was raised in Estonia in a Russian family. I earned by Masters Degree in Teaching Education from Estonia and Russia. Our family moved to the United States in 1999. Before our move, I was the principal of a Daycare-Kindergarten school for 18 years, I have worked in the ELL program for the Sioux Falls School District for 4 years. I have taught Russian language through the Ukranian Church, the Philadephia Language Center and through private lessons. I believe in Community Education because it is an affordable way for students to expand their knowledge without the cost of college. The knowledge of languages helps to understand cultures, meet new friends with the same interests, and make a connection to different countries.

A South Dakota native, Chef Stacy, like most Midwest-raised girls, started baking when she was 9 years old. In her early 20s she married, and with the support of her new husband left the comforts of home to pursue her education at the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Colorado in Denver.
Graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2006, Chef Stacy knew the next step was to bring her talents back to where her heart was. The eclectic food scene in Sioux Falls offered a variety of ways to use her skills as a barista, pastry chef, and baker. Her passion goes beyond the walls of any one building or kitchen. Her goal is to bring menus to life that are special to her personal clients in their own kitchens. Catering private events, teaching classes or offering one-on-one lessons, Chef Stacy can make a menu more than just what you eat, but a memory to savor.

I have been making creative pieces and custom knives for over 20 years. I appeared on the History Channel on a show called Forged in Fire where I won the title of champion for my Charay sword. I have always been interested in art and learning. Teaching a metal art class is a great outlet for creativity and making heirloom pieces that you can be proud of.

When I was young I did yoga with my mother on the beach, then I did yoga stretching before and after my dance performances for many years. I incorporated yoga with my dance students to warm them up and cool them down. Finally, I took training and achieved all the levels of YogaFit to become certified. Yoga has always been a lasting and enduring part of my life. Yoga gives me joy and peace. I hope to share this deep and abiding satisfaction with all my students.

Mr. Hofflander - Owner/Licensed UAS Pilot at DroneWise LLC has been teaching high school computer science and technology in Sioux Falls for 9 years. He has always been fascinated with flight and finally got a tiny drone as a gift from his wife while working at Sanford. He returned to teaching with the crazy idea of integrating drones with education. After being awarded a grant from the Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation for The Volaré Project, the first high school drone program was established.
After strategically selecting and purchasing a small fleet of minidrones, the RHS Flight Club was established for students. Through Community Education, Mr. Hofflander wants to demystify drone technology for public interest and to promote the safe, responsible pursuit of using drones in our community. Drone technology has been integrated into two classes which exposes students to STEM education through programming and flight. Minidrones can be checked out by the building staff at Roosevelt for a variety tasks.
Mr. Hofflander is a husband and a proud father with four daughters at home who endure his love of drone activity. With drone technology, the Hofflander family photo just got more interesting.

I began my career as a Paramedic in Pennsylvania. I managed an ambulance service about an hour south of Pittsburgh. I moved to Sioux Falls SD to raise a family in 1992. I continued to volunteer as a Paramedic as I raised my children. I now work full time at the Avera Heart Hospital and as a BLS/ACLS Instructor with Heartstarters. I was born third to the last into a family of 9 children and started babysitting early. I have three children ages 35,25,23 and two grandchildren ages 1 and 6. I teach many life support courses for Community Ed and have combined several classes for the Super-Sitter program. Students from the Supersitter class don't just learn to watch children, they learn to play, feed and care for children. They learn how to identify risks and prevent injury and illness and know what to do in an emergency! I enjoy teaching people of all ages to be prepared to prevent injury and illness and what they can do should if they are on the scene of a victim needing help.
Hi! My name is Christina Jasper. I am a 37 year old mother. My husband, Dan, and I have 3 boys total. Julian is 3, Aidan is 14, and my step son, Dylan is 17. We also have a dog, and our cat just had 5 adorable kittens! Besides teaching piano, I also work as a makeup artist at Sephora and enjoy helping my clients feel beautiful. In my free time, I like to be outdoors in nature, at the lake boating and fishing, and spending time with my family. I have played piano since I was 8 years old and have always loved music. As a child, learning the piano gave me confidence, helped me excel in school and express my creativity. My piano teacher was a special friend, mentor, and role model, and I enjoy providing that opportunity to other children.
My inspiration derives from the environment around me. Living in South Dakota my whole life has opened my eyes to the vast amount of natural resources just below my feet. Integrating the Earth with my own work truly gives me a better respect for my surroundings.
My job as a ceramist is to create simple yet elegant forms that speak about functionality. A goal of mine is to dig deeper into the realm of nature and extraction of clay bodies to gain a better appreciation for my artwork. Furthermore, I’m excited to begin working with the chemistry aspect of ceramics by creating different, visually appealing glazes and slips, which will characterize my work.
In the fall of 2014, Kidd enrolled at the University of South Dakota, majoring in art education. In the span of four years at the university, Kidd completely changed his techniques as a potter by incorporating wood and salt firing methods into his work, rather than basic electric firings. These alternate firings involved tremendous amount of team work, strategy, patience, and knowledge, which in turn affect each ceramic vessel.
Andrea Koch is a part time middle school art teacher and full time creative. You can usually find her scoping out local gems, pondering her latest project, and soaking up South Dakota life with her family and animals. She earned her undergraduate degree at Black Hills State in Art Education with an endorsement in Special Education. She now lives on the flatter side of the state with her husband and animals, but South Dakota has always been where they call home!
She's excited to partner with Sioux Falls Community Education to help others dig into their own creativity!

I am an Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist, BodyTalk Access Technician and yin yoga teacher. I went through Yoga Teacher Training with Lex Gillan in 2011 in Houston, TX. I practiced only Bikram yoga before then. I was very interested in Ayurveda and private instruction. I was attracted to the cycles of activity and rest, and learning more about how humans are a part of the patterns of nature. In 2013, I trained at the Bahamas Sivananda Ashram with Marc Halpern through the California College of Ayurveda to receive a certificate in Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy. This is applying yogic practices like breathing exercises, poses, routine, diet, relaxation, plant based oils and more in an ayurvedically informed way, specific to each individual’s constitution. I then studied The Art of Teaching Private Yoga with Kate Connell, updated my certificate in Sensory Processing Across the Life Span with Laura Barker, and went through a course to become certified in Yin Yoga with Carole Westerman. Other areas of focus in my education, training and practice that inform my classes are BodyTalk energy medicine, Pediatric Yoga and Mindfulness, Traumatic Stress: Resiliency and Healing with Yoga through the Sedona Yoga Festival, Ayurveda and Autoimmune Conditions and Ayurveda and and Paleo Diet with Dr. Akil Palanisamy. I teach group and individual lessons in Sioux Falls, SD at a Health and Fitness Club for people over 50 situated within a retirement community, for veterans at the VA Medical Center, through my studio Yes Yoga One, and soon to be through Bloom, a learning and play environment for children, where the focus is on children. Here is a podcast interview touching on my delivery of yoga bit.ly/nourishCTFOY

|Tina Schmutterer||I currently teach English at Roosevelt High School, a very busy life each school year. To help ease my stress on school nights, dinners for the week are planned on Sunday afternoons and partially or wholly prepared for the busy nights ahead. Utilizing ingredients already in my pantry and making a list of additional ingredients needed for the chosen recipes, I prepare or prep 4-5 meals a week so that they are ready to assemble and cook or put in the oven when I get home each night. Because of this type of organization, I am able to keep my grocery bill between $80-$100 each week. On those school nights that I have Homework Help or work a game at my school, I know that my meal is ready to put in the oven for my family. My goal in offering this class is to help you prepare meals for your family, keep your grocery bill at a minimum, and enjoy the evening with your family around a nice hot dinner|
I was born and raised in southeastern South Dakota (Freeman), and ended up in Sioux Falls to attend Augustana College, which is where I've been ever since. Several years ago, I drove by Dakota Stained Glass and saw a sign advertising beginning stained glass classes. I signed up and fell in love with the process of copper foiled stained glass. I have taken several different classes in stained glass technique, but always seem to come back to the copper foil method. After giving friends and family a lot of stained glass sun catchers and ornaments as gifts, I've begun selling my pieces at local craft fairs and shows throughout South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska. My creations tend to be funky, unique and whimsical, definitely all one of kinds!

I feel like my life has been a journey of discovering the many tools available for healing. Since I was a little girl, my dreams and life choices have centered around being able to help others. After a short career as a pharmacist, I moved on to a more holistic approach with Reiki and Massage Therapy. After returning from Thailand, where I learned their traditional massage, I met my husband Randy who runs R & R Transformational Healing with me. Since then I have added crystal healing, energetic jewelry design, and sound therapy with crystal singing bowls and tuning forks to my "tool box". My passion is to continue learning and assisting others in their own journeys.
Spending six months in Chicago, IL, I slowly rose up to the top as a competitive B-Boy with my crew, Dark Beast. I spent the entire spring and summer of 2016 planning, hosting, and putting together community events for the Twin Cities during my return to Minnesota before moving to Chicago to further pursue my career as a dancer, which then transformed me into a dance instructor for the youth! I wish to pass down all of the resources, knowledge, and mentoring that I received as a young adult on to the future generation: your children; the children that hold the future in their hands. Finding my reason, aspirations, and determination through teaching dance, I wish to continue down this path as a young artist, spreading the positive energy and love that comes with and from dancing!

Greetings! I am Rob Vroman. I've been a social studies teacher at Washington High School for over 25 years, and I have taught Driver's Education at Lincoln High School fsince 2008. I am originally from Leavenworth, Kansas. Upon graduation from the University of Kansas, I was an Army officer for four years. Afterward, I dabbled briefly in medical sales and restaurant management and moved to Sioux Falls in 1990 to pursue a master's degree in secondary education from Augustana College to become a teacher. I'm married to Beth Vroman who teaches social studies at Patrick Henry Middle School. We have four children -Chris, Kaytie, Anna, and Michael. We love Sioux Falls (except, at times, the winters) and are blessed to live in such a great community. The rewards of teaching have outweighed the sacrifices. Thanks for entrusting your children to our program. With your support and encouragement, I hope to help your child in safely navigating the exciting rite of passage that driving represents.

Jamie Hyneman from Mythbusters once said, "Duct Tape isn't perfect for anything, but is adequate for everything." I can't think of a better metaphor for myself. I'm duct tape. Capable in a jack mess of trades--from manly trades such as home construction and grilling to poindexter pursuits such as philosophy and Greek--but haven't mastered any so as to become a professional. Author of three published novels--Caveat Ties, Soul Shocked, and Zaide: Mozart's Lost Opera--I live in Tea, SD and have three boys, rowdy and strong willed. My great occupational passion is writing. As a youth, I'd spend hours in my room typing stories. Stories of all kinds. Stories that were never finished. Then, I grew up. Hints flowed my way, that maybe, I ought to choose a 'realistic' career path. So I did what any confused teen would do. I joined the army. Four Army and another four college years later, I learned I'm too scatterbrained, for a 'realistic' career path. I began writing again. My only constant pursuit of occupational joy. (I love doing and learning new things, I just have a hard time sticking with them.) And, I actually started finishing works.
