In this hands-on workshop, we'll cultivate our inner herbalist, discovering the properties, benefits, and uses of medicinal garden plants and backyard wild weeds. We'll discuss and demo a variety of herbal preparation and preservation methods such as drying and making infused oils, with a focus on skincare remedies like salves, sprays, and perfumes. Participants will smell and touch their way to a personal herbal infusion to take home. 16 & up.

Rachel DeBoer
Rachel is a registered nurse who is passionate about supporting others to find true health and flourishing at home. After spending ten years battling autoimmune disease and chronic pain herself, she embarked on a journey of natural healing which led her to the garden and the kitchen. In collaboration with functional medicine practitioners, health coaches, and herbalists, Rachel has since taught nutrition, cooking, and gardening techniques to support healthier people and a healthier planet at farmers markets, schools, and in diverse communities throughout New Jersey. She is excited to share her fresh flavor and fresh perspective with her hometown community of Sioux Falls.
