Music lessons spur emotional and behavioral growth for all ages! Join our trained brass instructor for weekly individual ½ hour lessons. Students will need to purchase instruction book(s) and have access to their instrument of choice to practice. Whether a beginner or continuing your music endeavors - train the brain!

Bill Gibson



Bill Gibson is a Musical Director for Cunard Cruise Lines (Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria and Queen Mary 2). Traveling the world on the seven seas, his duties include administrating, scheduling musicians, conducting, and performing. As Musical Director, he is in charge of the ship’s musicians including a string quartet, solo pianists, harpist, ballroom dance orchestra, theater orchestra, and a Caribbean band. Under his direction, the Royal Court Theater Orchestra accompanies international acts and artists, many of whom have performed in the West End and Broadway. Locally, Mr. Gibson is the leader of the Sioux Falls Dixieland Stompers and the Bill Gibson Orchestra which are based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Bill has recorded for CBS and NBC television and has two solo CDs, Blues for Cook and Bundee Brothers Bone Band with fellow trombonist Ron Wilkins. He is also featured on the debut CD of international vocalist Michel Chartier. Mr. Gibson has toured nationally with the orchestras of Jimmy Dorsey, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, and Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus. He appeared as a guest soloist at the 2002 International Trombone Festival held at the University of North Texas in Denton. Other guest soloist appearances include the United States Army Jazz Ambassadors, United States Air Force Notables, Wadenswil Brass Band and Posaunen Chor in Zurich, Switzerland, and the United States Armed Forces School of Music. His other credits include performances with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Guy Lombardo Orchestra, Al Grey/ Jimmy Forrest Orchestra, Don Glasser Orchestra, Les Elgart Orchestra, Vaughn Monroe Orchestra, Pied Pipers, Carnival Cruise Lines, Costa Cruise Lines, and Holland America Westours.

A strong advocate for jazz education, Mr. Gibson has served on the faculties of the Clark Terry Institute at Westmar University, International Music Camp, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, Valley City State University, Augustana College and the University of Sioux Falls. He has presented clinics at music conventions in Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Texas. As an artist/clinician for the Getzen/Edwards Corporation, Mr. Gibson has also presented clinics at numerous colleges and high schools in the United States and the United Kingdom.

A native of Clearwater, Florida, Mr. Gibson attended the University of Tampa and the Berklee College of Music. His private trombone studies were with Otto Blankle (U.S.Army Field Band), Buster Cooper (Duke Ellington Orchestra), Warren Covington (NY studio Artist), Al Grey (Count Basie Orchestra), Dr. Donald S. Reinhardt (International brass specialist), and Phil Wilson (Berklee College of Music).
